PAR Privacy Statement

 

PAR recognizes the importance of protecting the personal information you provide at Web sites owned and/or controlled by the Phoenix Association of REALTORS® (PAR). Members should note that they may be re-directed away from the Phoenix Association’s website, and when they are re-directed to a vendor website, the vendor’s privacy statement supersedes the policy below.  The Phoenix Association maintains the following privacy policy:



1. PAR gathers the following types of information needed to process your transactions, fulfill your requests, and maintain your membership record:

·         Contact information you provide (for example, your personal and business addresses, phone and fax numbers, firm affiliations and titles).

·         Tracking information which our Web server automatically recognizes each time you visit one of our sites or communicate with us by e-mail (for example, your domain name, your e-mail address, and what pages you visit); and

·         Information you volunteer, via applications or surveys (for example, education, designations, specialties, affiliations with other real estate organizations and general demographic data).

2. PAR uses this information to:

·         Improve and customize the content and layout of our sites and other communications tools, such as The Phoenix REALTOR® Forum newsletter online and print.

·         Notify you of updates to our sites.

·         Notify you of relevant products and services.

·         Notify you of upcoming events and programs.

·         Compile specialty directories about which you will be made aware.

·         Track usage of our sites.

3. PAR does not share, sell or trade e-mail addresses, but may provide you with on-line informational or marketing messages that have been approved by PAR for the purposes described in Part 4 of this policy.

4.  The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13. We operate the Site in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act and do not permit registration by, and will not knowingly collect or use personally identifiable information from, anyone under 13 years of age.

5.  The Site is not intended for or directed to persons under the age of 18. PAR does not sell products for purchase by children. PAR sells products for purchase by adults. By registering with this web site, purchasing products or services from us or providing us with any information, you represent to us that you are 18 years of age or older and that any information you provide to us about a third party is for a third party that is 18 years of age or older.

6. PAR will not share, sell or otherwise provide other information about you to third parties, except for:

·         When required by law or valid legal process, or to protect the personal safety of our members or the public.

·         Some or all of the data collected during promotions or contests on our sites that are sponsored by third parties may be shared with the sponsor for the limited purpose of a one-time marketing follow-up by the sponsor. If information about you will be shared with a sponsor you will be notified prior to your participation in the promotion or contest and you can decide not to participate in the promotion or contest.


7. Credit information that you and credit authorizers provide when you make payments by credit card or electronic check for products, dues or other services via the REALTOR® Electronic Commerce Network (“E-Commerce Network”) will only be used to process the transactions you request. This information will be provided to and maintained by reputable credit reporting databases, but will never be sold, shared or provided to other third parties.

8.  PAR is committed to protecting the security of your personal information. PAR and it’s vendors use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.  The personal information you provide is stored on computer servers with limited access that are located at a secure and controlled data center. Additionally, when PAR transmits sensitive personal information (such as a credit card number) over the Internet, it is protected  through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol.

9.  The use of cookies on the Sites to ensure the integrity of the registration process and to personalize the Sites. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a Web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. Web beacons, also known as clear gif technology, or action tags, may be used to assist in delivering the cookie on our sites. This technology is a tool we use to compile aggregated statistics about the Site’s usage, such as how many visitors clicked on key elements (such as links or graphics) on the Site, blog or a newsletter. We may share aggregated Site statistics with partner companies. We may use third-party advertising companies to serve ads on our behalf. These companies may employ cookies and action tags to measure advertising effectiveness. Any information that these third parties collect via cookies and action tags is completely anonymous.


10. We utilize a strict Opt-Out policy for sending online notifications regarding services, products and programs. You may adjust your Communication Preferences by reviewing your REALTOR.org registration. Just Login first. Then you can change your preferences.
(Examine and update your existing account (will link to form on website).  Requests to change personal information will not be accepted if you attempt to delete mandatory required fields or enter incorrect information that would intentionally falsify your member record. 

11. You can review and edit your personal information and contact preferences by contacting us at the phone number or email address provided elsewhere on this Site.
 

12.  Changes may occasionally update this privacy statement. When we do, we will also revise the "last updated" date at the top of the privacy statement. We encourage you to periodically review this privacy statement to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect. Your continued use of the service constitutes your agreement to this privacy statement and any updates.
